How Eminence helps in the fight against global warming...
Eminence is committed to being the industry leader in keeping our planet green. They are constantly looking at ways to reduce their carbon footprint, from the harvest and production of their products, to how they package them and finally how they get them to you.
Green Production
Eminence's ingredient farm in Hungary is now 100% powered by solar and wind energy and uses geothermal heating in the lab. They use only natural compost during planting andharvest from only controlled areas to avoid damaging any native or endangered flowers and herbs. Both planting and harvesting are done by manual labor which produces little to no carbon dioxide in carparison to traditional mechanical means, and they use only natural plant preservatio techniques like honey traps instead of harsh toxic chemical pesticides.
Green Packaging
Eminence boxes are made from 30% post-consumer recycled material and cen be recycled at any local recycling depot. Their wooden boxes are made from 50% post-consumer recycled material, and their retail stands are made from a renewable resource. Their plastic containers are made out of recycled, non-toxic plastic and are recyclable at any local recycling depot. They are currently developing containers from PLA, polylactic acid, a polymer made outof corn, as a completely biodegradable packaging option. Finally, their packing chips made of corn dissolve harmlessly under running hot water.
Green Warehouse
Eminence reuses or recycles all packing boxes that they receive and - as mentioned before - their packing chips are made of 100% biodegradable corn. Their new eco-friendly software system elininates the need for printed invoices and saves 15 - 20 trees per year.
